On 15 June , the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the United Kingdom, in partnership with ICCF-UK, co-hosted a parliamentary reception in the Attlee Suite of Portcullis House dedicated to the upcoming COP17 of the Convention on Biological Diversity.

The reception was hosted by Barry Gardiner MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on International Conservation, and brought together parliamentarians, diplomats, representatives of environmental organisations, and other stakeholders to discuss the importance of international cooperation in reversing global biodiversity decline.

In his remarks, Ambassador Varuzhan Nersesyan underlined Armenia’s strong commitment to environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and multilateral cooperation. The Ambassador emphasised that the upcoming COP17 negotiations represent an important opportunity for the international community to strengthen collective efforts to address biodiversity loss and protect natural ecosystems for future generations. He also noted Armenia’s ongoing efforts to implement its commitments under the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework through national policies and conservation initiatives.

Ambassador Nersesyan also highlighted Armenia’s readiness to work closely with international partners, including the United Kingdom, in advancing shared priorities on conservation, sustainable development, and climate resilience.
