Ambassador Meets with the Armenian Students in the UK

26 March, 2012

Ambassador Karine Kazinian visited Oxford and Kent universities on March 15 and 22 respectively by the invitation of the Armenian Students’ Unions. The visits were cognitive and allowed both the Ambassador and the students to communicate with each other and discuss issues related to the Armenian youth in the UK.

Armenian Students’ Union at the University of Kent, whose members come from 15 different European countries, had organised an event related to the Republic of Armenia and the 97th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The event was attended not only by Armenians, but also by around 40 foreign students and professors.

The Ambassador presented the challenges that the independent and young 20 year old democracy Armenia faces. The Ambassador also discussed the regional developments, foreign policy and UK-Armenia relations. Her Excellency also addressed the ongoing process of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide. The speech of the Ambassador was followed by a Q&A session.

The German documentary entitled  “Aghet”  concluded the event.
