Jazzical Komitas premiere in London

On June 27, the premiere of Jazzical Komitas in London, presented by the Klingen Choir and Cultural Association took place with the support of the Embassy of Armenia.

The concert brought the music of Komitas together with jazz, piano, orchestra, and choir, offering a fresh interpretation of one of the most important figures in Armenian musical heritage.

In his remarks, the Ambassador reflected on Komitas’s enduring legacy, noting that he was “not just a composer,” but part of how Armenians understand their culture, history, and sound. He also highlighted the importance of presenting Komitas to new audiences, emphasising that such collaborations help keep his work relevant and accessible across generations and cultures.

The Ambassador thanked conductor and performer Sipan Olah, pianist and composer Joel A. Martin, the Klingen Chamber Orchestra, the Klingen Choir, and all the other performers and organisers who contributed to the evening
