London Climate Action Week

Within the framework of London Climate Action Week, H.E. Varuzhan Nersesyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United Kingdom, accompanied H.E. Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of Armenia, during a series of high-level engagements dedicated to climate action, biodiversity finance, and preparations for CBD COP17 to be hosted by Armenia.

The programme included participation in “Advancing Environmental Action through the Rio Convention COPs,” “Finance and Nature Dialogue,” and “The Road to COP17 Yerevan,” as well as meetings with international partners on COP17 preparations, resource mobilisation, and biodiversity conservation.

The Embassy of Armenia in the United Kingdom also hosted a reception, bringing together representatives of government institutions, international organisations, the private sector, academia, and civil society. The event served as a platform to present Armenia’s priorities as the host and presidency of COP17 and to strengthen partnerships ahead of the conference in Yerevan.

In his remarks, Ambassador Nersesyan highlighted the importance of London Climate Action Week in expanding international cooperation and reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to work closely with partners toward an inclusive, and results-oriented COP17.
